Check list for a "Tizzie Baby" Below you will find Tizzies’ list of ‘Ideal’ products you need for your baby. You will also find some links to videos of Tizzie exlaining her reason behind recommending some of the advice she does and how to implement her recommendations and use the products she recommends. (Please note this is an ideal list and we are aware not all families will be able to purchase all things but it will give you an indication of what Tizzie recommends)
Cot – for more information on choosing a safe cot please read this article – http://saveoursleep.com/reading/free/babycotshowtochoose.aspCot Mattress – Tizzie recommends a firm, well fitted mattress which when placed inside the cot has no gaps around the edge between the mattress and the cot bars and also which passes the safe hand test. This is where you press your hand down firmly on the sleeping surface and then remove your hand. If you can still see your hand print when you have removed your hand then the sleeping surface is too soft. Here is short video of Tizzie discussing the importance of a good cot mattress - http://blog.saveoursleep.com/2012/06/20/tizzie-hall-on-cot-mattressesBedding guide - This is a ‘must have’ guide to ensure you can correctly implement and follow Tizzies’ routines. Tizzie has found one of the main reasons babies do not settle and sleep well in their beds is because they are not warm and snug enough to sleep well. This guide explains exactly how Tizzie recommends to dress your baby and what bedding to use in different climates and different room temperatures. The bedding guide is emailed complimentary with all book purchases from the Save Our Sleep® ® Store or available for purchase as a downloadable PDF for $9.00 - http://shop.saveoursleep.com.au/product/1802/26811 Here is a short video of Tizzie discussion safe bedding - http://blog.saveoursleep.com/2012/06/20/tizzie-hall-on-safe-beddingRoom thermometer – It is very important that you always know the room temperature in your baby’s nursery so you can use Tizzies’ safe bedding guide and know how many blankets you should start with. It is important that you measure your baby’s room temperature at cot level as close to your baby’s cot as possible. Refer to the Safe Bedding Guide for further details. Tizzies’ recommended room thermometer - http://shop.saveoursleep.com.au/product/2492/32261Safe mattress protector – Tizzie does NOT recommend using a waterproof mattress protector. Tizzie has tested practically all the mattress protectors on the market and found only one that did not cause a baby to sweat. This was the BAMBI 100% cotton mattress protector. Tizzie has now liaised with the company to have these protectors branded with the Save Our Sleep® ® brand and packaged with Save Our Sleep® ® packing which provides a large amount of information on the back. If you do not want to use a mattress protector then Tizzie recommends using a 100% cotton or bamboo towel on top of the mattress. Comforter Tizzie spends a lot of time warning parents from introducing a negative sleep aid such as rocking, patting, sucking on a dummy. However Tizzie feels it is very important that your baby has a positive sleep aid and therefore recommends you introduce a safe baby comforter to your baby as soon as possible. Here is an article where Tizzie discusses comforters further - http://saveoursleep.com/reading/free/babycomforters.asp Tizzies’ range of safe baby comforters can be viewed here - http://shop.saveoursleep.com.au/ecms/category.asp?cid=1175Bodysuit – Tizzie recommends that all babies wear a bodysuit under their babygro. The age of your baby and if your baby is still swaddled depends on what type of bodysuit. For a baby who is swaddled it is recommended to use a short sleeve bodysuit and for a baby who is no longer swaddled Tizzie recommends a long sleeve bodysuit. Here is a link to some of Tizzies’ recommended bodysuits - http://shop.saveoursleep.com.au/ecms/category.asp?cid=3045Babygro – A babygro is what Tizzie recommends all children wear when sleeping over a bodysuit until at least the age of two. A babygro has long arms, long legs and with or without feed. Here is a link to some babygro’s in the store -? http://shop.saveoursleep.com.au/ecms/category.asp?cid=2833 We hope this helps clarify some common questions that we get asked regarding what Tizzie recommends you need for your baby. |
